I’m in a pickle needing to replace my flywheel housing on my 18 any chance tomorrow we can video chat real quick to help me replace it I’ve got the bolt loosened that drains out the oil and everything ready plz help 🙏
@@LimitLessGsxr feel free to message @QuantumMotorWorks on instagram
You’re amazing! I can’t find anything at all on mine and your video is the closest but yeah I’m free anytime tomorrow I’ll send you a dm of a video of everything n where I’m at with, thank you truly, wish you all the best blessings regardless 🫶
I do seriously hope you're trying to be funny on 108 ft lbs
@@bluecollarbiker8005 whoops, mistake. It was actually supposed to be 180 ft lbs. Hope's this clarifies.
U suppose to hold the throttle open when swinging the motor when doing compression test.
I also have some weird knokin sounds from primary on my 2004 Sporty. But when I took the cover off there was nothing, now I need to check this. Thank you.
@@giorgiidzhalaganiia20 I would take off the primary cover and run it dry for a few seconds and listen to the front compensating sprocket. Dynamic inspection while running, check to see if its visibly jittering/ clacking while at idle, while increasing engine rpm, and when releasing the throttle. You can also pull the clutch lever in and out while in neutral, and look/ listen for debris abnormal noises. Another thing I've done for troubleshooting weird sounds, is sometimes with the primary assembly removed, if the noise persist, it's more than likely the power section or engine itself.
@@QuantumMotorWorks Thanks for the advice friend! Will do.
My friend has one, when you start the engine water enters and mixes with the oil
Stake it at least
@@randybloomfield5090 ?
Dude, you know you only need to paint about 3 of the gears at the most. WTF is that!?
@@ifster7273 I bought a 1oz tube and didnt want it to go to waste. Next time I'll paint the entire housing in contact paste just for you! ❤
@@QuantumMotorWorks Yes, please do. I'd love to see that. Thanks.
I like the video I am currently doing my 04 rear and I noticed this is the second video I dont see you using shims , so question if you go with a new pinion and ring gear does it still need to be shimmed ?
@@user-eb7nz8op9d yes, watch all of my videos. I shim the pinion at least 4 times before i got it correct. My situation may be a little different than yours. My inner pinion bearing failed, and removed enough material from the axle housing/ bearing journal that it required double the shim stack to make it correct.
Will a 07 engine work in my 05 frame, blew a rod and need an engine

This pattern make any noise ?

I got this same one, really want to get it working again.
Heat exchanger more than likely
Ooh sick 😮

Seems like nobody wants to drop the tank and flush that internal filter every 3,000 miles huh,,,,,,I guess if the manuel doesn't say to do it nobody will do it but all older bikers already know the drill, flush it or "external filter mod" and have to clean the pressure regulator every 3,000 miles....😂😢😅
Carrier preload between service manual (70-100ft lbs) versus technical instructor video (2-3 adjuster holes) is so vastly different. I just rebuilt mine, Chrysler 8.25. Just crazy how much different info there is for the same diff, specs even vary depending on vehicle (did for mine) took more then one try for me with all the different info 😅. As long as TTR for pinion then pinion+carrier is spoton we should be good 🤞🏻how’s your running after this try?
link where you got your control arms
I watched your video then checked the service manual. The pinion rotation torque is supposed to be 18-25 in. Lbs for new bearings. And it says don't loosen!
@@kenhart5259 that sounds like for used bearings, not new bearings. If you loosen it because you over tightened, the crush washer won’t apply spring force the the bearing races.
@@QuantumMotorWorks my manual says 15-20 for used. It also says 100 ft. Lbs on the right axle bearing and 75 on the left.
@@kenhart5259 what ever I demonstrated is straight from the factory service manual
@@kenhart5259 the 75ft and 100 are just reference starting points. I think my combined torqued to get my backlash ended up being around 250,” total but no more than 300….but don’t entirely quote me from my comment, I know I went more into detail on the process you’re referring to in one of my videos.
Iam have same issues I found a wire split into two one rhe top side of my transmision under firewall
@@jonwatson2481 if that was a power wire making contact (grounding) to the fire wall, you may have damaged your tipm, or PCM, or even the tranmission module. Pretty much what happened to me.
I wanted to congratulate you, very good video, I just commented, but in Spanish, that's why I'm writing to you in English, ask me, teacher, what would be the pin for the temperature meter and the tachometer, thanks, crack.
Maestro sos un crack gracias x compartir cual seria el pin del tacometro que va a la salida del tci y el de temoeratura Gracias
where did you get the torque values ?
I believe the service manual
Doesn’t sound too loud in tha vid but I’m knowin that beast roarin
Sometimes it's so loud I here, my co workers iphone says we are being exposed to life threatening/ dangerous sound lol.
Stupidity at its best
Hello I swapped 600cc engine to a 750cc engine . Bike starts but misfires a lot and decelerate . Do I have to change the flywheel to prevent the misfiring or backfire ?
How'd it run? Always see people prophesying doom if your gear pattern aint textbook.
I like to think I did mine perfectly without any flaw. 1500 miles so far and feels good as new.
@@QuantumMotorWorks I achieved a similar pattern on a Ford 8.8 and had people criticizing the drive pattern sitting towards the toe and the coast not mirroring the drive perfectly. Of course some recommend to have the drive sit towards the toe so the pattern can spread back under load, and all the installation guides say that on 2-cut gears the heel-toe placement is trivial. Doesn't stop people from bitchin.
As long as you follow the service manual you'll be good. I followed the services procedures to a T. I used many other sources of information from gear manufacturers to cross reference different techniques and processes. I used a combination of all credible information to do the job successfully. Most peoples advice, especially from the internet, typically lack any real life experience when it comes to anything. I never took anyone's advice when I did my rear end. It was 150% all me.
I cant hear the bitching over the sound of my 33" mudders and V8 hemi. 💪💪💪 best of luck on your project brother
@@QuantumMotorWorks Good stuff. Mine's going in tomorrow. Had to do a lot of research as well and of course the little advice that I did get came from a prick and turned out to be dead wrong. The fact that so many jackasses can put these things together and have em drive OK gives me confidence in my own work. Fun to learn how to DIY car stuff because you can recognize which "experts" are just mouthing off.
You have the riser plate upside down but it should work as is. Important thing with these is belt alignment. Guys put these on and the belt gets ruined fairly quick. They blame the cheap belt when it's really pully alignment. Another thing with these is the bolt for the driver. They can come loose and explode the driver off of the engine while riding. Not good. A lot of guys use a 5/8 to 3/4 adaptor for the PTO.
Ok
Como esta hermano
What gear is this? I just did a 4.56 and had a similar pattern I almost kept myself on the factory shims. Had .006 backlash. I did move the pinion in, and gave it waaaay more backlash all the way to .015, but it’s dead silent, and the pattern is very close to center on the drive side, and never changed on the coast side, stayed perfect center the whole time.
.015 is way to much, almost double. I think its 4 to 5. It's been a while, I would have to check my notes. There is a pinion shimming depth for the best contact patter. and then a final alignment on torquing the differential bearings, to achieve that 4- 5 backlash
Also, contact pattern is more critical on the coast side when using original or mis matched gears, or new/ old bearings, etc.
I kept my gears stock..... I'm not sure what I have... I think 3.91
arent you supposed to hold throttle wide open when doing a compression test?
I got the same bike. Im getting the p0131 code. It has a thundermax tuner. Any idea on where i should start?
What is that code again, sorry I forget.
diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0131, which stands for "O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1", can indicate an issue with one of the oxygen sensors in a vehicle. This is what I found the code means. I figured I'd replace the o2 sensor. I'm not a mechanic just looking for pointers.
Work smart not hard move the cart closer to where you’re working

Man, you guys sounds like old prunes. Lol.
Damn dad u be lifting heavy weight 💪💪💪
❤💪💪
Is this common?
Had one of those drank 55 gallons of water the first day learning to ride it. 😂
Really? They actually are pretty easy to get the hang of
Do you add any kind of grease or lube to the gear when you put it back into pwc? or do you make sure its clean on the supercharger and the pwc?
I cant specifically remember, but I want to say yes for sure I would probably use a minor amount of assembly lube on the mating surfaces of moving parts.
I was going to buy a Chinese piece of s*** carb thanks man
Too deep. Will probably give you howling
Sure
Excellent, thank you!
What is the tone ring count? I am working on a project and I need to know the count for computer calibration. Thanks
Impossible to know at this point without removing the cover.
@@QuantumMotorWorks I found the information. The count depends on the axle. 10.5 are 120 count. Below 5.7l engine is 108 count but to those who read this-- always confirm for your project.
Much appreciation for posting this video. The effort to do this has not gone unnoticed! Thank you.
I miss Riley :(
Me too
Great video
Cool video
Why does everyone show how to put shit back together but not take it apart 🙄🤣, everyone starting in the middle of the project
Because some people probably dont have the time to share every detail. You should be able to figure out how it comes apart by following along how it goes together......
Where did you get it, I can't find it
Probably the only n best video to watch.. although you learn a little from every different video
By the sound i thought it was a civic at first😂😂😂😂

@@user-kd5cu7qf3f the can-am maverick's are all triple cylinder turbo charged 1000cc engines. Some models come intercooled and mapped, etc. Fron the factory.
